As you read the above you were probably amazed at the frequency of the breaks. These breaks have several important functions in the training. One is to allow students time to reflect on what they have experienced. Another is to give them plenty of unstructured time to become acquainted. This is part of the way a powerful group spirit develops a precious rapport and collective psychic energy that grows as the course progresses, adding to everyone's confidence and success. It also allows students to stretch and to go to the loo. Finally, and not unimportant, it allows them to return to the Beta level, which adds to the depth of later meditations.
By the end of the course, Students are absolutely elated, animated, delighted and utterly amazed. Even though it is late, they often still stand around reluctant to leave and really can't stop talking about their unbelievable experiences. Many swap phone numbers to begin home practice sessions together
